Bullpadel Vertex 04 Review: Six Weeks With a Pure Power Frame

Quick Answer

The Bullpadel Vertex 04 is one of the most punishing smash rackets I have tested, and it is worth buying if you already attack from the net with good technique. It is a stiff, high-balance diamond that asks for a fast swing. Club players should look at the Comfort, Hybrid or Woman version instead of the standard frame.

  • Best for: advanced and competition players on the left side who finish points overhead.
  • Weight/Balance/Shape: 365 - 375 g, high balance, diamond, 12K carbon face (Vertex 04 2025).
  • Price at Padelnox: $269 for the 2025 edition, $239 for the 2024 edition.

Key Takeaways

  • A true attacker's frame: the high balance sends the ball off the glass with height, but you pay for it on fast low volleys.
  • 2024 and 2025 play alike: both list a diamond shape, 365 - 375 g and a high balance, so the 2024 at $239 is the value buy.
  • The Hybrid is the most versatile Vertex 04: a low listed balance makes it far easier to defend with.
  • Comfort and Woman protect the arm: both use a Fibrix face, and the Woman drops to 345 - 360 g.
  • Not a beginner racket: every Vertex 04 version we stock lists competition or advanced level except the 2025 Hybrid.

Six Weeks With the Bullpadel Vertex 04

I tested the Bullpadel Vertex 04 2025 ($269) across twelve sessions over six weeks: two per week, same ball brand, same doubles partner on my right, one overgrip, no weight strips. My normal racket is a medium-balance teardrop, so every note below is relative to that.

Week 1, sessions 1 and 2. The first thing I noticed was where the weight sits. Held by the grip, the head drops toward the floor faster than my teardrop. The balance point feels a couple of finger-widths higher. On my first dozen smashes I was late, because the frame needs a full, early preparation. Once I lifted my racket earlier, the ball started jumping off the back glass properly.

Week 2, sessions 3 and 4. I focused on volleys. At chest height, the Vertex 04 is excellent: firm, direct and very little vibration when you find the center. At my feet it is another story. The heavy head makes the quick reflex block harder, and two of my low volleys clipped the tape in a single rally. The sweet spot is generous up high and narrows toward the throat.

Week 3, sessions 5 and 6. Bandeja and víbora week. The rough surface bites. My víbora curved into the side glass with more spin than I get from my own frame, and the bandeja stayed low after the bounce. This is where the Vertex 04 earns its reputation. You feel the ball stay on the face a fraction longer when you brush it.

Week 4, sessions 7 and 8. Arm check. After a 90-minute match I had a mild ache on the outside of the elbow that I do not get with my teardrop. It was gone the next morning. For a player with an existing elbow problem, I would not recommend the standard 04. The Comfort exists for a reason.

Week 5, sessions 9 and 10. I put it head to head with the NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum Agustín Tapia 2025 ($279), a teardrop with a medium listed balance. The NOX was quicker on defense and more forgiving on mishits. The Vertex 04 was clearly more explosive overhead. If you spend most of the point at the net and your smash is your best shot, the Vertex wins. If you play a lot of balls from the back glass, the AT10 does.

Week 6, sessions 11 and 12. Match play. Two sets of competitive doubles each session. By now my timing had adjusted and I was hitting three or four smashes per set out of the court on the side, which I rarely do with my own frame. My defensive errors were still higher than usual.

Verdict. A specialist attacking racket. Superb for the right player, unforgiving for the wrong one.

Bullpadel Vertex 04 Versions Explained

The Bullpadel Vertex 04 comes in more versions than any other frame in the Bullpadel line. These are the ones we stock and what separates them on the spec sheet.

Vertex 04 2025 vs 2024. Both are diamonds at 365 - 375 g with a high balance and a 12K carbon face. The Bullpadel Vertex 04 2024 ($239) lists a MultiEVA medium core and a rough, hard surface. The 2025 lists a MultiEVA core and an advanced player level. For most buyers the $30 difference buys a new colorway more than a new racket.

Vertex 04 Hybrid. The shape moves toward a rounder head and the balance is listed low. The Bullpadel Vertex 04 Hybrid 2025 ($269) also lists an "improver to competition" level, the only Vertex 04 that does. This is the version I recommend most often, because it keeps the 12K carbon fiber XT face but asks much less of your wrist on defense.

Vertex 04 Comfort. The Bullpadel Vertex 04 Comfort 2024 ($239) keeps the diamond shape and high balance, but uses a Fibrix face and a medium surface, and drops to 360 - 370 g. Fibrix softens the impact. People searching for "Vertex 04 Comfort weight" usually want to know if it is lighter: it is, by about 5 g at each end of the range.

Vertex 04 Woman. The Bullpadel Vertex 04 Woman 2024 ($249) lists 345 - 360 g, the lightest Vertex 04 of all, with the same Fibrix face as the Comfort. It still lists a high balance, so it swings like a diamond.

Vertex 04 MX, Master Final and Tour Finals. The Bullpadel Vertex 04 MX 2024 ($269) lists the same diamond shape, weight range, high balance and 12K face as the standard 2024. We also stock the Vertex 04 Master Final 2023 and the Vertex 04 Tour Finals 2024, but we do not have published spec rows for those two, so I will not quote numbers for them.

How to Set Up the Vertex 04, and Who Should Buy It

Use this checklist before you buy a Bullpadel Vertex 04, and again when it arrives.

  1. Confirm your level. If you are not yet hitting a controlled bandeja under pressure, choose the Vertex 04 Hybrid 2025 rather than the standard frame.
  2. Match the version to your body. Arm history points to the Comfort. A lighter build or a shorter swing points to the Woman. Everyone else chooses between the 2024 and 2025 standard frames.
  3. Think about weight in the hand, not only on the scale. A high-balance racket at 365 g feels heavier than a low-balance one at 370 g. My padel racket weight guide explains why.
  4. Build the grip up gradually. Start with one overgrip from your Court-Ready Kit. Squeeze the handle in a ready position. If your fingertips dig into your palm, add a second.
  5. Fit the frame protector before session one. The top of a diamond head is where the frame meets the glass on low defensive shots.
  6. Hold off on weight strips. The Vertex 04 does not need extra head weight. If anything, you will want it to feel lighter.
  7. Give it three weeks. My own timing only settled in the third week of testing. Judge it after that, not after one session.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Bullpadel Vertex 04 weigh?

The standard Vertex 04 2024 and 2025 both list 365 - 375 g on the manufacturer spec sheet, as do the Hybrid and MX versions. The Vertex 04 Comfort 2024 lists 360 - 370 g, and the Vertex 04 Woman 2024 lists 345 - 360 g. Because the standard frame has a high balance, it feels heavier in the hand than its scale weight suggests, especially on fast volleys at the net.

Is the Bullpadel Vertex 04 2025 different from the 2024?

On our spec rows the two are very close. Both are diamond frames at 365 - 375 g with a high balance and a 12K carbon face. The 2024 lists a MultiEVA medium core and a competition level, while the 2025 lists a MultiEVA core and an advanced level. On court I found them very similar. The 2024 at $239 is the better value, and the 2025 at $269 is the newer design.

Bullpadel Vertex 04 or NOX AT10 Genius 18K: which should I buy?

Buy the Vertex 04 if you play at the net, love to smash and have a fast, clean swing. Buy the NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum 2025 if you want one racket for attack and defense. The NOX is a teardrop with a medium listed balance, so it is quicker on low volleys and more forgiving off center. The Vertex has more raw power overhead and a stiffer feel.
