The Agustín Tapia Racket: Every NOX AT10 Tapia Edition Explained
Quick Answer
The Agustín Tapia racket is the NOX AT10, the frame NOX builds and publishes as Tapia's. At Padelnox six frames carry his name, from the 2025 Genius 18K Alum to the 2026 Genius 12K Xtrem Alum. Most are teardrops for all-court players, while the Attack versions are diamonds for players who finish overhead.
- Best for: advanced players who want a complete, attacking all-court racket
- Weight / Shape: 360 - 375 g across the Tapia editions, teardrop (Genius) or diamond (Attack)
- Price at Padelnox: $279 for the 2025 Tapia editions, $329 for the 2026 Genius 12K Xtrem Alum
Key Takeaways
- The AT10 is Tapia's line. The AT initials are Agustín Tapia's, and every frame in the family is built around his all-court style.
- Six frames in our range carry his name in the title. Five from 2025 and one from 2026.
- A pro's match racket may be customized. I cannot verify the exact frame or setup any pro uses on a given day, so this guide covers the retail versions you can buy.
- Genius or Attack is the real decision. Teardrop for control and versatility, diamond for power.
- Copying a pro's setup rarely helps. Grip size, overgrips and weight should fit your hand and your arm, not his.

Which Frames Carry the Agustín Tapia Name
NOX sells many AT10 rackets, but not all of them print Tapia's name in the model title. At Padelnox, these six do:
- NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum Agustín Tapia 2025 ($279): teardrop, medium balance, Carbon Alum 18K face.
- NOX AT10 Luxury Genius 12K 2025 by Agustín Tapia ($279): teardrop, medium balance, flat 12K carbon face.
- NOX AT10 Genius Attack 12K Agustín Tapia 2025 ($279): diamond, high balance, 12K face.
- NOX AT10 Luxury Genius Attack 18K Alum 2025 by Agustín Tapia ($279): diamond, high balance, 18K Carbon Alum face.
- NOX AT10 Genius LTD 2025 Agustín Tapia Limited Edition ($279): teardrop, medium balance, 18K Carbon Alum face.
- NOX AT10 Genius 12K Xtrem Alum Agustín Tapia 2026 ($329): teardrop, HR3 Black EVA core, intermediate-hard feel.
The other AT10 frames, such as the 2024 12K and 18K or the 2026 Luxury Genius models, belong to the same family and share the same design thinking. They simply do not carry his name on the listing.
Is a named edition better than an unnamed AT10 from the same year? Not in any way the spec sheets show. Compare the Genius 18K Alum 2025 with its unnamed siblings and you find the same weight range and the same construction ideas. The name tells you which frames NOX associates most directly with him, which matters if you are a fan or a collector. For pure performance, choose by shape, face and price. My NOX AT10 guide covers the whole family.
A Month on the Left Side With the Agustín Tapia Racket
Tapia is known for creative, attacking padel, so I tested his frames the way I think they are meant to be used. For four weeks I played every match on the left side, the revés side, where the player is expected to finish points overhead. I usually play the right, so this was a stretch for me as well as for the rackets.
Week one: the Genius 18K Alum 2025. I started with the teardrop. Its medium balance made it forgiving on the backhand volley, which is the shot left-side players hit most under pressure. My víbora to the side glass had good bite from the rough surface. When a lob came deep, I could still reach it and hit a controlled bandeja rather than a desperate swing.
Week two: the Genius Attack 12K 2025. Switching to the diamond changed everything above my head. The high balance put more weight behind the smash, and I hit my first two "por tres" smashes out of the court over the side wall in weeks. The cost was at the net: my quick volleys felt slower, and I missed two easy reflex balls that I would have made with the teardrop.
Week three: the Luxury Genius Attack 18K Alum 2025. This was the most powerful of the four. The 18K Alum face with the diamond head made the ball explode off the glass. It is also the one that demanded the cleanest technique. When I was late, the ball went into the net rather than over it.
Week four: the Genius 12K Xtrem Alum 2026. Back to a teardrop, this time with an HR3 core and a firmer feel. It gave me some of the Attack's punch while keeping the teardrop's handling. For a left-side player who is not ready for a diamond, it is the most interesting of the group.
A note on my partner's view. My usual doubles partner watched all four weeks from the right side. She said the teardrop weeks were the ones where I set her up best, because my overheads came back lower and more predictable.
What I took from it. Tapia's style looks like pure attack on video, but the racket that made me play most like a complete left-side player was the teardrop, not the diamond. Unless your smash is already your best shot, start with a Genius.
The Agustín Tapia Racket by Year: 2024, 2025, 2026
2024. The AT10 12K and 18K 2024 frames are teardrops with a high balance and a Black EVA core. They do not carry Tapia's name in our listings but play in the same spirit, and they are the value choice today.
2025. The biggest year for Tapia editions. The teardrop Genius frames move to a medium balance and a multilayer MLD Black EVA core, and the Attack versions offer a diamond option. Five of the six named frames come from this year.
2026. The new Agustín Tapia racket for 2026 in our range is the Genius 12K Xtrem Alum. It adds the Dual Spin surface and an HR3 core. If you are specifically looking for his latest frame, this is it. If you want the best balance of price and performance, a 2025 Genius is still my pick. For the 12K vs 18K question across these years, read the NOX AT10 12K vs 18K comparison.
Grip, Weight and Setup for an Agustín Tapia Racket
People often ask what grip size or weight Tapia uses. I do not know his personal setup, and it would not help you if I did. Here is how I set up a Tapia racket for a club player.
- Check the weight range. All six Tapia editions are listed at 360 - 375 g. That is standard for adult padel. If you have arm issues, consider the non-Tapia AT10 Xtrem Lite at 355 - 365 g instead.
- Build the grip with overgrips. Padel handles are thin. One overgrip suits most hands, two suit large hands. A Wilson Pro Overgrip 3-pack ($16.99) lasts a regular player about a month. My padel overgrip guide shows how to wrap it.
- Test the grip with a volley, not a smash. If the racket twists in your hand on a firm volley, the grip is too thin.
- Fit the frame protector. Every Tapia edition is over $150, so the Court-Ready Kit's free protector and overgrip 3-pack come with it.
- Leave weight alone for six sessions. Adding lead to the head of a diamond Attack frame makes it even less forgiving. Most club players are better off without it.
- Choose your side honestly. Left-side finishers can consider Attack. Everyone else should start with a Genius teardrop.
