Babolat Technical Viper Padel Rackets

Quick Answer
The Babolat Technical Viper is Babolat's stiffest attacking padel racket: a diamond shape with a high balance, built for competition players who finish points overhead. This collection holds the 3.0 2026, the softer Technical Viper Soft 3.0, the 2.5 2025 and the 2023, plus the Juan Lebron editions.
- Best for: Competition-level attackers with a fast, compact swing and a healthy arm.
- Weight / Balance / Shape: 360 to 375 g on the 3.0 2026 (360 to 380 g on the Juan Lebron 3.0), high balance, diamond.
- Price at Padelnox: $199 (Technical Viper 2023) to $329 (Juan Lebron 3.0 Gift Box Edition).
Key Takeaways
- Every version is a high-balance diamond: the shape and balance never change, so the differences are in core and face.
- 2026 moved to a 3K face: the 2023 and 2.5 2025 use a 12K carbon face, while the 3.0 2026 frames use 3K.
- The Soft 3.0 exists for a reason: it swaps the hard X-EVA core for a soft Black EVA core, keeping the shape but calming the feel.
- Listed for competition across the board: this is not a racket to grow into; it is a racket for players who have already arrived.
- Lebrón editions sit here too: the Technical Viper Juan Lebron frames are the signature versions of this same racket family.

The Babolat Technical Viper Range
I am Tomás Reyes, and I coach padel for a living. When a student asks me for "the most powerful Babolat," this collection is where I point them, usually with a warning attached. The Technical prefix is Babolat's code for the attacking, stiffest version of a family, and on the Viper it produces the most demanding frame in the brand's range. The Babolat Viper guide explains how it sits next to the Air and Counter.
Technical Viper 3.0 2026
The Babolat Technical Viper 3.0 2026 ($279) is listed at 360 to 375 g, high balance, with a 3K carbon face, a rough, medium surface and a hard X-EVA multilayered core. It is the reference version of the current range.
Technical Viper Soft 3.0 2026
The Babolat Technical Viper Soft 3.0 2026 ($279) shares the shape, weight and face, but uses a soft Black EVA core. Still listed for competition, it is the version I recommend to strong players who have started to feel their elbow.
Technical Viper 2.5 2025 and 2023
The Technical Viper 2.5 2025 ($249) is listed at 355 to 375 g with a 12K face and a medium X-EVA core. The Technical Viper 2023 ($199) is listed at 365 g with a 12K face, a textured, hard surface and a medium X-EVA core. Both are competition frames and both remain excellent buys.
The Juan Lebron editions
Babolat also sells the Technical Viper as Juan Lebrón's signature racket, in several years and in Gift Box or With Bag packaging. The Technical Viper Juan Lebron 3.0 2026 ($279) is listed at 360 to 380 g with a hard EVA core. My Juan Lebrón racket guide covers every edition, and the full story of the standard frames is in my Babolat Technical Viper review.
A Month With the Babolat Technical Viper
I spent a month rotating the 3.0 2026, the Soft 3.0 and the 2023 through my own sessions: twelve in total, same partner, same balls, notes after each. I avoided the drills where I feed beginners, because this is not a racket for that job.
Week one: the hard core
The first overhead with the 3.0 2026 went through the court and rattled the fence. That is the headline. The high balance puts the weight where the smash needs it, and the hard core returns every bit of energy you put in. The flip side arrived on a late volley at my hip: the ball went long and my forearm buzzed. The Technical Viper tells you honestly when you are late.
Week two: the Soft 3.0
Switching to the Soft 3.0 felt like the same racket with better suspension. Smashes lost a little top-end speed, perhaps one ball in five that would have gone out of the court stayed in. In exchange, blocks were calmer and my arm was noticeably fresher after 90 minutes. If I played a Technical Viper every day, this is the one I would choose.
Week three: the 2023 with its 12K face
The 2023 felt different from the 2026 frames in a way I could hear as well as feel. The 12K face gave a slightly drier, crisper contact than the 3K face. The textured, hard surface gripped the ball well on the víbora. At $199 it is the easiest way to find out whether you truly want a Technical Viper.
Week four: match play
In three competitive sets with each frame, my winners went up and my unforced errors went up too. That is the Technical Viper deal. For a player who hits on time, the extra winners outnumber the errors. For a player who does not, the balance goes the other way.
How to Choose Your Babolat Technical Viper
- Be sure you are ready. Every version is listed for competition. If you are still building your overhead, look at the Air Viper or a Veron first; my Babolat Viper vs Veron comparison helps you decide.
- Choose the core for your arm. Hard X-EVA for maximum pop (3.0 2026), soft Black EVA for comfort (Soft 3.0), medium X-EVA for the middle (2.5 2025 and 2023).
- Choose the face feel. 12K on the 2023 and 2.5 2025 feels crisper; 3K on the 2026 frames gives a little more dwell. My guide to carbon weave numbers explains why.
- Decide on signature or standard. The Juan Lebron versions carry his name and, on the 3.0, a slightly heavier listed range.
- Set up for a heavy head. Use one overgrip, fit a frame protector, and do not add lead tape to the head. This racket does not need more weight up top.
- Warm up properly. High-balance frames load the shoulder. Five minutes of easy volleys before you smash is not optional.

| Bullpadel Vertex 05 2026 | Diamond | 365 - 375 g | Medium | MultiEVA, medium | 12K carbon fiber XT | Improver to competition | $339 |
I included the Bullpadel Vertex 05 2026 ($339) because it is the diamond I get asked about most alongside the Technical Viper. It is listed with a medium balance and a wider player range, so it is a little more forgiving. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the Babolat Technical Viper weigh?
The Technical Viper 3.0 2026 and the Soft 3.0 are listed at 360 to 375 g. The 2.5 2025 is listed at 355 to 375 g, and the 2023 at 365 g. The Technical Viper Juan Lebron 3.0 2026 is slightly heavier at 360 to 380 g. With a high balance on every version, it feels heavier in the hand than a teardrop of the same weight.
Babolat Technical Viper 2025 vs 2026: what changed?
The 2.5 2025 uses a 12K carbon face and a medium X-EVA core, listed at 355 to 375 g. The 3.0 2026 moves to a 3K carbon face and a hard X-EVA core, listed at 360 to 375 g. On court the 2026 feels more explosive on smashes and less forgiving on late contact. The 2025 is a little more comfortable and still a competition-level frame.
Is the Babolat Technical Viper good for intermediate players?
Usually not. Every Technical Viper is listed for competition level, with a high balance and firm cores that punish late contact and tire the arm. Most intermediate players progress faster with the Air Viper, the Viper Soft Lebron or a Babolat Veron. If you are a strong intermediate set on this racket, the Technical Viper Soft 3.0 with its soft core is the gentlest way in.
