Selkirk Pickleball Paddles

15 products

Quick Answer

Selkirk pickleball paddles in this collection fall into four families: LUXX Control Air for soft-game control, Vanguard Power Air for pace, LABS Project 007 for experimental power with grit, and the SLK Control XL for value. Most club players should start with a LUXX, and hard hitters with a Vanguard.

  • Best for: control players (LUXX), power players (Vanguard), advanced tinkerers (LABS), budget buyers (SLK)
  • Weight and shape: elongated Invikta models from 7.7 to 8.4 oz, with cores from 13 mm to 20 mm
  • Price at Padelnox: $129 (SLK Control XL) or $219 (LUXX, Vanguard and LABS)

Key Takeaways

  • Twelve paddles, four real choices: many listings above are color variants, so the decision is smaller than the grid suggests.
  • Read the core number in the title: 13 mm, 14 mm, 19 mm and 20 mm tell you more about feel than any color or name.
  • Same price across the premium lines: every LUXX, Vanguard and LABS paddle is $219, so choose on feel, not on cost.
  • Only one Selkirk under $150: the SLK Control XL at $129 is the entry point to the brand.
  • Every paddle here ships free: all Selkirk pickleball paddles clear the $99 free tracked shipping threshold.

How to Read This Selkirk Pickleball Paddles Collection

I am Tomás Reyes, a padel coach who also coaches pickleball crossover players here in the US, and you can read more about how I test. When students scroll a grid like the one above, they usually see a wall of paddles that look almost the same and all cost $219. Here is how I tell them to read it.

Look at the family name first

Selkirk names each paddle with a family, a shape, sometimes a core thickness, and then a color. "LUXX Control Air" tells you it is the control family. "Vanguard Power Air" tells you it is the power family. "LABS" means Selkirk's experimental line. "SLK" is the brand's value line.

Then the shape

"Invikta" is Selkirk's elongated shape, and it is on nearly every paddle here. "Epic" appears on one LUXX and is a more compact shape. If you see no shape in the title, as on the SLK Control XL, the listing describes it as an extended shape for extra reach.

Then the core thickness

This number is the single most useful thing in the title. The Vanguard Power Air is 13 mm. The LABS Project 007 is 14 mm. The LUXX InfiniGrit is 19 mm and the standard LUXX Invikta is 20 mm. Thinner means livelier and faster, thicker means calmer and more forgiving.

Finally the color

Colors do not change performance. The four Vanguard colorways share one spec sheet, as do the three LUXX Invikta 20mm versions and the two InfiniGrit versions. Pick the family and thickness, then pick the color you want to look at.

Searches for other Selkirk lines, such as the Boomstik, the Omni or older models, land here too. We only list the paddles in the grid above, and I only write about paddles I have played.

What Happened When I Handed Out the Demo Bag

Last spring I filled a bag with one of every Selkirk family we stock and let my crossover group use them for a month. Eight players, ratings roughly 3.0 to 4.5, all of them padel players too. I rotated paddles each session, kept the balls and courts the same, and asked everyone for two words after each session.

The LUXX got the calmest words

"Quiet" and "easy" came up again and again for the LUXX Control Air Invikta 20mm Jack Sock Signature ($219). My 3.0 players kept more dinks in the kitchen with it than with anything else. Two of them bought one at the end of the month.

The Vanguard got the loudest words

"Fast" and "fun" for the Vanguard Power Air Invikta in Red/Black ($219). My former tennis players loved the pop on drives. My padel-only players found their drops going long for the first two sessions, then adjusted.

The InfiniGrit won the spin contest

We did a simple test: ten topspin roll dinks each, counting how many dipped inside the kitchen. The LUXX Control Air InfiniGrit Invikta 19mm in Red ($219) won for most players. Its 19 mm core kept the calm LUXX feel while the gritty face bit into the ball.

The LABS 007 split the group

The Selkirk LABS Project 007 Invikta 14mm ($219) was the favorite of my strongest player and the least favorite of my newest. Power plus grit is a lot of paddle. In the right hands it is excellent.

The SLK surprised people

Nobody expected much from the Selkirk SLK Control XL ($129). It was forgiving, the extended shape gave good reach at the kitchen, and one budget-minded player chose it over the premium options without regret.

How to Choose From the Selkirk Grid

  1. Filter by budget. Under $150 means the SLK Control XL. At $219 you can choose any other paddle in the collection.
  2. Pick control or power. Control means LUXX Control Air. Power means Vanguard Power Air. Power with grit means LABS Project 007.
  3. Pick the core thickness. Newer players should go for 19 or 20 mm. Confident players with good hands can choose 13 or 14 mm.
  4. Decide on grit. If you already hit topspin, the InfiniGrit LUXX and the LABS 007 add real spin. Otherwise, the standard faces are fine.
  5. Choose the shape. Invikta for reach and two-handed backhands. The LUXX Control Air Epic in Red ($219) if you prefer a more compact face.
  6. Set it up. Add one thin overgrip if the 4.25 in grip feels small, and use a cover or bag to protect the edgeless rim.

A note on weighted paddles, since players often search for a "Selkirk weighted paddle". None of the paddles here needs extra weight out of the box. If you want more plow-through after a month of play, add a few grams of lead tape at 3 and 9 o'clock for stability, never all at the tip, and check your arm after each session.

Specs come from the manufacturer sheets we hold. A dash means Selkirk has not published that figure for the listing, so I will not invent one. If you want a Selkirk power paddle, the Vanguard row is the one to read. If you want the most forgiving Selkirk, read the top row. Frequently Asked Questions

Which Selkirk pickleball paddle has the most power?

In this collection, the Vanguard Power Air Invikta has the most raw power. It combines a thin 13 mm polymer honeycomb core with a fiberglass and carbon fiber hybrid face, which returns more energy on drives and counters. The LABS Project 007 Invikta 14mm is close behind and adds an InfiniGrit surface for spin. Both cost $219. Newer players usually control a thicker LUXX more easily.

Are the different colors of the same Selkirk paddle identical?

Yes. The four Vanguard Power Air Invikta colorways share one specification, as do the three LUXX Control Air Invikta 20mm versions and the two InfiniGrit 19mm versions. Weight ranges, dimensions, core and face are listed identically. Small feel differences between two individual paddles come from normal manufacturing tolerance inside the published weight range, not from the color. Choose the finish you like.

What is the lowest-priced Selkirk paddle at Padelnox?

The Selkirk SLK Control XL is the lowest-priced Selkirk we stock at $129. It is a control-oriented paddle with an extended shape for reach and a forgiving response, which makes it a sensible first paddle for newer players. It still clears the $99 free tracked shipping threshold. Every other Selkirk in this collection, including the LUXX, Vanguard and LABS models, is $219.
