A Month Coaching With the Vertex 04 Comfort and Woman
I am Tomás Reyes, an FIP-certified padel coach, and I already tested the standard frame for my review. For this collection page I wanted to answer a different question: what happens when club players use the softer and lighter Vertex 04 versions? So for four weeks I rotated the Comfort 2024 and the Woman 2024 between three students and my own coaching sessions.
Week 1: first impressions. Both frames feel like a Vertex the moment you pick them up. The head still carries the weight, as you would expect from a listed high balance. But the Fibrix face changes the sound. Where the standard 04 cracks, these two thud. My students described the Comfort as "the Vertex with the edges sanded off".
Week 2: arm check. The student with elbow history played two 90-minute sessions with the Comfort. No pain either evening. On the standard 2024 frame a month earlier, he had iced his elbow after every session. One player, one month, but a clear difference for him.
Week 3: the Woman version. The Woman 2024 went to a student with a short, quick swing. At 345 - 360 g she could bring the head around on the smash without dragging her elbow down. Her bandeja improved almost at once, because she had time to set up.
Week 4: my own sessions. I fed and played with both. The sweet spot on the Comfort felt slightly larger than on the standard 04, and off-center volleys carried better. The Woman felt quick at the net for a diamond. Neither hit the smash quite as hard as the standard frame. Both were far more pleasant over a long day on court.
What did not change. Neither version fixed a late preparation. The student with the quick swing still framed a few smashes when she let the lob drop too low, just as she would with any diamond. A softer face forgives the arm, not the footwork. I tell every student that before they buy.
My takeaway. If you want a Vertex 04 but you are not a competition player with a strong arm, one of these two is probably your racket.
How to Choose Your Bullpadel Vertex 04
- Decide how much you defend. Mostly attack: standard 2024 or 2025. Attack and defend: Hybrid 2024 or 2025.
